He never saw her coming…

Spencer Lark already knows too many secrets about Arizona Storm, including the nightmare she survived and her resulting trust issues. But in order to expose a smuggling ring—and continue avenging his own tragic past—the bounty hunter reluctantly agrees to make Arizona a decoy. Yet nothing has equipped him for her hypnotic blend of fragility and bravery, or for the protective instincts she stirs in him.

Arizona wants to reclaim her life, which means acting as bait to lure the enemy into a trap. Sure it’s dangerous, especially with a partner as distractingly appealing as Spencer. But as their plan—and their chemistry—shifts into high gear, Arizona may discover there’s an even greater risk in surrendering her heart to a hero….

My Review:

A Perfect Storm is the fourth book in Lori Foster’s Men Who Walk The Edge Of Honor series. With each book, this series gets better and better, even though it started out amazing. Lori Foster has tackled the hard subject of human trafficking with this series. She has done it with finesse and understanding, providing her readers with an understanding as to how prevalent this problem is in the United States, not just some third world country.

Arizona is an amazing female character. She survived the human sex trade and instead of cowering from the world, she wants revenge. She is almost as knowledgeable as Jackson and the other guys when it comes to weapons and hand to hand combat. Arizona is out to prove a point and to take out the people who destroyed her life. She is kick ass with a core of vulnerability. But she hides that vulnerability with her smart mouth and actions. Arizona doesn’t need a knight in shining armor; she needs an equal who will help her on her mission.

Spencer is such an amazing match for Arizona. After being made a widow because of human traffickers, he wants as much revenge as Arizona. However, he is a little more level headed about it. As much as he wants to shelter Arizona, he knows that it would never work. She would kick his ass first. Instead, he agrees to help her and help her he does. Not only with shutting down an operation, but with realizing intimacy and human connection is not something to be afraid of. Spencer is her perfect match.

This story is a great addition to this series. I love reading about these men (and woman) and the job they perform under the radar. In silence and anonymity they are saving and changing lives. I hope there is another book in this series.

I give A Perfect Storm a 4 Horseshoe rating.
