The tougher they are, the harder they fall…

Professional mercenary Dare Macintosh lives by one hard and fast rule: business should never be personal. If a cause appeals to him and the price is right, he’ll take the mission he’s offered. But then the lovely Molly Alexander asks him to help her track down the men who’d had her kidnapped—and for the first time, Dare’s tempted to combine work with pleasure.

Fiercely independent, Molly vows to trust no one until she’s uncovered the truth. Could the enemy be her powerful, estranged father? The ex-fiancé who still holds a grudge? Or the not-so-shy fan of her bestselling novels? As the danger heats up around them, the only anchor Molly has is Dare himself. But what she feels for him just might be the most frightening thing of all…

My Review:

Lori Foster is very talented in writing an Alpha male who has very strong protective and caring instincts. I want Dare to take me to his home and care for me!

The story starts out with Dare on a mission to save his best friend’s little sister. While saving the girl from human traffickers, he discovers an American woman kept away from the girls primed to be sold. That had beaten and abused. He knew he had to save her. After getting back to American soil and delivering his best friend’s sister, Dare works to help Molly. She quickly asks his help to find out why she was captured. Through out the story Dare discovers a strong and willful woman. One that would fit perfectly in to his life.

Even though Dare is a tough ex-military turned professional mercenary, he is very approachable and easy to relate to. Molly’s strength she showed as she pulled through after her ordeal was amazing. I wish she had showed a little more weakness. I think it would have made her a little more approachable. But over all, I loved her character. She had to be strong with very little weaknesses to attract a man like Dare.

Lori Foster has written a compelling Romantic Suspense. I found myself trying to figure out who wanted to have Molly kidnapped and why. But it wasn’t until almost three quarters of the way through the book did I figure it out. Lori did a good job of making the reader think it might be a certain person before showing that it was someone else. She also gave her readers a very satisfying ending.

When You Dare is the first book in Lori Foster’s new series Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor. The next book Trace Of Fever is scheduled for release on May 31, 2011.

I give When You Dare a 4 Horseshoe rating!
